Family nurse practitioners deliver primary healthcare to individuals across the lifespan (pediatrics to older adults), with an emphasis on preventive care. Their expertise lies in working with a variety of patients to manage any number of health conditions at various stages of life.
Program Overview
Students in the Family Nurse Practitioner program are prepared to manage patients in the outpatient healthcare setting from birth to old age. This is a 46-credit program that includes 650 clinical hours and will increase to 750 clinical hours for students admitted in fall 2024 and after.

Admission Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited BSN program with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Submission of official transcripts from all postsecondary schools attended
- Active licensure to practice nursing in the State of Pennsylvania. Additional RN license in NJ is required before students enter the clinical year.
- Completion of a statistics course at an undergraduate or graduate level with a grade of C or better
- Two professional references, one from a supervisor
- Written statement of professional goals with reasons for pursuing graduate study to become an Adult-Gerontology Primary Nurse Practitioner
- Professional resume or curriculum vitae
- Interview with Program Admissions Committee
