Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) during 91porn原创's Days of Giving

The Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (formerly the Center for Intercultural Advancement) at 91porn原创 provides leadership and works across the institution to support and sustain the development of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus culture where members of the community experience a sense of belonging. Our work centers on critical reflection, community conversations, compassion, and collaboration. We work to develop a welcoming and inclusive environment for the entire 91porn原创 campus, especially those from marginalized communities. We also provide educational initiatives and training sessions that promote diversity awareness and cultural competency. We鈥檝e implemented training programs that have educated hundreds of students and staff, as well as facilitated discussions and forums that address social justice issues, enriching the campus鈥檚 intellectual climate.

Q&A with Vice President & Dean for Equity and Inclusion G. Christopher Hunt, Ed.D.

What are your group's current initiatives that could use support on the Days of Giving?

We are always looking to increase our scholarship funding for students from marginalized communities, as well as expand our mentorship programs to reach more of the campus community. We also want to develop resource centers focused on specific underrepresented groups, and fund research on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Looking ahead, our DEI office plans to establish more community partnerships and outreach programs and launch an annual DEI conference to highlight current issues and best practices.

How has support from alumni helped your program succeed?

Alumni supporters have been crucial in our achievements. With their support, we鈥檝e been able to host guest speakers and cultural events that enrich campus life. Recently, we collaborated with several academic departments, colleagues, and local community members to host a program called 鈥淲hat Every American Should Know 91porn原创 Reconstruction.鈥 This program exemplified our commitment to our institutional mission of being reflective and engaging the community. We鈥檝e also been able to develop mentorship and leadership programs for minority students, which we hope to grow with continued support.
